Q + A

Before the wedding

Can I bring my young child to the wedding?

Yes! We would love to see both you and your child at our wedding, just be sure to mention them in your RSVP. If there is any practical support that would make it easier for you to attend, absolutely let us know so we can look into it.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code is cocktail or semi-formal. No need for a tux or floor-length gown, but leave the sneakers and jeans at home.

What will the weather be like?

Early November in San Francisco typically sees highs in the mid-sixties, peaking around 3pm, and dropping to low sixties by sunset, then low fifties in the evening. Things tend to be chillier near the coast in the Presidio, too, so be sure to bring some layers.

Is there a hotel block?

We haven't reserved an official block, but we recommend the Laurel Inn as a good option. If you prefer a hotel closer to the airport, we recommend the Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront.

Are there any precautions for Covid?

While we expect that any of our guests with symptoms of illness will prefer to stay home and celebrate privately with us at a later date, we won't be checking vaccination status or for recent negative tests. For anyone especially concerned about infection, there is the option to let us know that you will attend the ceremony (which will be outdoors, weather permitting) and skip the indoor reception. You may of course also wear a mask as possible.

At the wedding

How should I get to the venue? Will there be parking?

Driving or using a ride-share app are both great ways to get around in the Presidio, which has less traffic and more parking than most parts of the city. We do not recommend public transportation. If you will be driving yourself, please note that in your RSVP so we can arrange for your free parking in the lot at the Golden Gate Club.

What time should I arrive, and what should I expect at the ceremony?

Please arrive around 3:30pm in time to be seated for the ceremony at 4pm. The ceremony portion of the wedding will be held outdoors on the chapel lawn, which is just up the hill from the reception venue. Those with mobility issues may drive up to the chapel and walk from there. Please plan to put your phone away and silence it during the ceremony.

What should I expect at the cocktail hour?

After the ceremony, guests are invited to walk (or drive) down to our reception location at the Golden Gate Club. For approximately an hour as the newlyweds and immediate family take photos, there will be passed and plated appetizers and an open bar.

What should I expect at the reception?

The reception will include a buffet dinner, open bar, desert and dancing. Seating will be by table, so check the signage at the door to see where to head.
